Join Mark Singer, Darcy Dunn, Julia Mendelsohn and their talented friends from both New Yo

​MARK SINGER will hold two audition dates for the MOUNTAINTOP VARIETY SHOW (AND A HALF):

 

Looking for 3 men and 3 women of various ages to perform short skits based on great old television script writing by the likes of Stiller and Meara and Nichols and May. 

Individual auditions will start at 11:00am with either monologues or sides. Please sign up for a 15 minute time slot from below, and let us know which part(s) you would like to audition for by emailing your preferred slot and a headshot to shipleyj@catskillmtn.org with the subject line: "(YOUR NAME) - MARK SINGER Audition". We will email you the appropriate sides at that time. Tandem auditions ARE allowed, if you would like to audition with a friend. 

We are also happy to view submitted video auditions. Once we've seen everyone, Mark will either cast or set up follow up auditions for chemistry reads. 

Performance date for Mountain Top Variety Hour is Saturday, November 21st at 7pm.

A rehearsal schedule will be created based on casting. Please include any fall conflicts you may have.

VIDEO: email shipleyj@catskillmtn.org and you will be put in touch with the director for further instructions. These should be submitted by the day of auditions (April 25th) in order to be considered alongside in-person auditions. 

All parts are open and available. 

Non-Equity, high-level community theater (no monetary compensation, no fees charged for participation). Equal opportunity casting.

CONFLICTS: Please bring your conflicts to auditions, where you will be provided with a projected rehearsal schedule. (Also found below.)

VOLUNTEERS: We welcome volunteers who would like to be involved in all aspects of the productions. Please email shipleyj@catskillmtn.org to learn more about costume design, set design and build out, painting, stage management, ushering, and other opportunities to support community theater!

Show Breakdown

The Mountaintop Variety Show (and a Half) is a collection of great TV skits and songs from the Great American Songbook, including:

The Funeral Parlor (Nichols & May): Funeral arrangements are negotiated at a cut-rate funeral establishment where all options come with hidden costs. 1F/1M 

Duet for Bear and Dog (Sybil Rosen): A small dog owned by a Russian woman trees a bear in Woodstock, NY. The bear and dog discuss the situation while waiting for animal control to arrive. Then animal control takes over. 5F/M

Last Two People on Earth (Stiller & Meara): The last two surviving people on earth meet and get to know each other. 1F/1M

Please Have a Seat (Garth Wingfield): Two people get to know each other while in the waiting room of their psychiatrists’ office. 2F/1M
